The Bicolor Parrotfish, also known as the Bicolor Parrot, undergoes a dramatic color transformation from juvenile to adult. Juveniles show an immaculate white body with a broad orange face band, while terminal adults develop a brilliant teal-green body detailed with fine pinkish-orange spots and fin margins. Equipped with fused, beak-like teeth, it constantly scrapes live rock to feed on turf algae and coral bases, generating fine coral sand in the process. Due to its large adult size, heavy scraping activity, and potential to damage stony corals, it is strictly suited for extra-large fish-only display aquariums.
