The Sunburst Anthias, also known as the Fathead Anthias, is a jewel among deep-water marine species, renowned for its brilliant pink, yellow, and orange blotched coloration. Unlike many of its high-energy, surface-dwelling relatives, this species has a stockier build and prefers a more secretive, slow-paced lifestyle amidst overhangs and shady rockwork caves. They are somewhat shy upon introduction and require dim to moderate aquarium lighting to feel comfortable. Completely reef-safe, they make peaceful companions for gentle community fish in mature setups with stable water parameters.
