The Pacific Sun CO2 Scrubber is an external filtration reactor engineered specifically to elevate and stabilize pH levels in home marine reef aquariums. High ambient carbon dioxide inside modern, well-insulated homes is the leading cause of chronic low pH. When a protein skimmer draws in this CO2-heavy room air, it acidifies the water column. By routing the skimmer’s air intake line through this reactor, carbon dioxide is scrubbed from the air before it reaches the tank.
Pacific Sun builds their scrubbers as heavy-duty cylinders featuring clear, high-impact acrylic walls and a modular grid tracking plates. The air is pulled through the bottom of the column and rises vertically through the media to ensure uniform exposure.
