Product overview
FritzZyme 9 is a live nitrifying bacteria liquid for marine tanks. It seeds live rock, sump media, and other biological surfaces so a new saltwater tank can process ammonia and nitrite sooner than waiting for bacteria to grow on their own.
Use it to start a cycle, after a big clean, after rinsing media, or after medication. The cells are already active. It is not a dry spore product that needs time to wake up.
Key features
-
Live nitrifiers: Saltwater strains that convert ammonia and nitrite. Not a heterotrophic sludge blend.
-
New tanks: Helps stock the biofilter so ammonia and nitrite do not sit as long.
-
After work: Top up bacteria after media rinses, large water changes, or medicine.
-
Storage: Keep cool and dark. No fridge needed. Use within about a year.
-
Salinity: Made for marine salinity. Stays active in normal reef and fish-only salt levels.
Water and system compatibility
-
Water: Marine and reef only. Not for freshwater.
-
System: New and established saltwater tanks, fish-only or reef, with live rock or other biological media. Fish, corals, and invertebrates can stay in the tank when dosing.

Directions
Need to work out the literage of your tank? Use our volume calculator.
New tanks: 119 ml per 19 L. Established tanks: 60 ml per 19 L. Heavy stock or a stalled cycle: the new-tank dose can be raised.
Remove chlorine and chloramine before dosing. Turn off UV, protein skimmers, and ozone for 48 hours so the bacteria can settle on the media.
Always follow directions on product packaging.
