Product overview
The Aqua One Ocellaris is an external pressurised canister filter with stacked media baskets for mechanical and biological filtration. Quick-release taps and a plunger primer make start-up and cleaning simpler.
UVC models add a built-in ultraviolet unit. It treats water as it passes the lamp, which helps with free-floating green-water algae. It is not a medication and does not replace regular maintenance.
Key features
- Media baskets: Lift-out trays so you can change sponge, wool, and biological media to suit the tank load.
- Quick-release taps: Push-down lever takes the hoses off the canister and holds water in the lines.
- Primer: Manual plunger to start the siphon. No need to suck the hose.
- In the box: Hoses, intake, spray bar return, and a starter media pack (coarse sponge, fine wool, sintered glass).
- UVC models: Built-in UV lamp on the 850 UVC, 1400 UVC, and 3000 UVC.
Water and system compatibility
- Water: Freshwater and marine. Suitable for coldwater, tropical, and marine tanks.
- System: External canister for glass or acrylic aquariums. Size the model to tank volume and head height, not just the flow rate on the box.
What's included
- Canister and pump head.
- Quick-release tap block and hoses.
- Intake pipe and spray bar return.
- Media baskets with starter sponge, wool, and sintered glass.
- UVC models: integrated UV unit.

Which model?
- 400: Small tanks up to about 100 L. Two media baskets.
- 850 / 850 UVC: About 150–250 L. Choose UVC if green water is a regular problem.
- 1400 / 1400 UVC: About 250–400 L.
- 3000 UVC: About 400–600 L. UVC only in this size. Four media baskets.
Installation
Place the canister below the water line. Prime with the plunger before switching on. Rinse new media in tank water. Replace the UV lamp on the service interval in the manual. UV light is harmful to eyes and skin — do not run the lamp out of its housing.
