An AMS Carbon Block Cartridge is a high-performance chemical filter typically used as the second stage in reverse osmosis (RO) water purification networks. Its main job is to remove chemical disinfectants and organic compounds from incoming tap water, which protects the sensitive synthetic RO membrane from chemical degradation.
The cartridge is manufactured using high-grade, extruded activated carbon. This design provides an immense surface area packed with microscopic adsorption sites that chemically bind and lock away pollutants. Unlike loose granular activated carbon (GAC) cartridges, an extruded carbon block prevents water from "channeling" (bypassing the media), ensuring uniform contact and filtration.
