Mollies are larger, highly active livebearers that double as fantastic utility fish, known for constantly picking at hair algae and surface biofilm. High-end variants are incredibly popular in large, heavily planted aquascapes. Top variants include the Black Lyretail Molly (a velvety, pitch-black fish with an elegant, crescent-shaped tail extension), the Dalmatian Molly (a gorgeous black-and-white speckled look reminiscent of the dog breed), and the premium Sailfin Molly (where dominant males develop an incredibly high, sail-like dorsal fin that they flash during courtship).
