Overview
The Murray River Rainbowfish holds a legendary status as a true blue-blooded Aussie native, naturally found throughout the Murray-Darling basin. They feature a beautifully compressed, deep body that flashes an array of metallic olive-green and turquoise-blue scales. When dominant males mature and enter courtship, their fins turn a vibrant crimson-red, and they develop a striking, dark horizontal body stripe. Because they come from temperate Australian rivers, they are exceptionally hardy and can easily tolerate cooler water temperatures than almost any other rainbowfish, making them a top-tier retail seller for unheated indoor aquariums.
