Overview
The Red Eye Tetra (or Lamp Eye) is a classic, robust schooler known for its clean, graphic look. Its body is wrapped in bright, metallic silver scales, which perfectly offset a deep black band at the base of its tail and a brilliant, glowing red patch at the top of its eye. These are highly active, tight-schooling fish that prefer the top and middle layers of the aquarium. Because they are incredibly resilient and grow a bit larger and chunkier than nano tetras, they make excellent companion fish for semi-aggressive community setups.
