Overview
Often considered the premium cousin to the Neon Tetra, the Cardinal Tetra is a showstopper in the Australian aquarium hobby. They feature a brilliant, unbroken electric-blue stripe alongside a deep scarlet band that runs the entire length of their underbelly. Because their red coloration extends all the way from head to tail, they offer an even more intense splash of color in a aquascape. They are a peaceful, tightly schooling fish that truly thrive and feel secure when kept in groups of 8 or more. While slightly more sensitive to water parameters than Neons, their radiant display in a well-planted tank is well worth the extra care.
