Petworx Premium Ceramic Rings are hollow ceramic noodles for biological filtration. The pores give nitrifying bacteria a place to live. Those bacteria convert ammonia and nitrite.

Rinse them before first use. After that, do not wash them under tap water. Chlorine will kill the bacteria.

Directions

1. Rinse the rings in freshwater before you add them, to wash off the dust.
2. Place them after the mechanical media, such as sponge or filter wool.
3. To clean them, swish them in a container of tank water. Do not use tap water.
4. Every 6 to 12 months, replace only about 25% of the oldest rings so the remaining bacteria can seed the new ones.
