Named for the iconic black tiles, the Domino Damselfish is a coal-black fish featuring three distinct white spots: one on each side and one on the forehead. As juveniles, they are incredibly striking and often associate with sea anemones for protection. However, as they grow into adulthood, the black can fade to a more charcoal-grey, and the spots may diminish. They are known for their high energy and extreme hardiness. Prospective owners should be aware that the Domino is one of the more aggressive damselfish; they are fearless and will not hesitate to harass newcomers or guard their territory aggressively.
