Product overview
Coral Essentials Magnesium + Trace is made in Australia. It is a concentrated magnesium supplement for marine reef tanks, with selected trace elements mixed in.
Magnesium is the third foundation parameter with calcium and alkalinity. If magnesium is too low, calcium and carbonates cannot stay dissolved at high levels and can precipitate as white powder, which also makes alkalinity swing. This 90,000 ppm solution supplies available magnesium plus Coral Power Trace A and B and other minor traces, so you can support magnesium and those micros from one bottle.
Key features
-
Concentrated magnesium: 90,000 ppm liquid for high-demand tanks and stable parameters.
-
Traces included: Blended with Coral Power Trace A and B and other minor traces, so you do not need extra bottles for those micros.
-
Keeps calcium and carbonate in solution: Helps prevent precipitation and wild alkalinity swings.
-
Simpler routine: Traces are dosed in a set ratio with each magnesium addition.
-
Dosing pumps: Suitable for automatic dosing reservoirs.
Water and system compatibility
-
Water: Marine / saltwater reef aquariums only. Not for freshwater or planted tanks.
-
Target: About 1300–1380 ppm magnesium.

-
Mixed reef: 1 ml per 100 litres daily
-
SPS dominant: 2 ml per 100 litres daily
Option 2: Calculated dose
-
Strength: 1 ml raises magnesium by 0.9 ppm per 100 litres.
- Test magnesium regularly to find how much the tank uses each day. Enter those values in the Coral Essentials dosing calculator to set the daily volume.
