The Blue Eye Cardinalfish, or Threadfin Cardinalfish, is a delicate and translucent species that is truly at its best when kept in large shoals. Its body is mostly iridescent silver and nearly see-through, with subtle orange-to-yellow vertical lines and a brilliant, glowing blue ring around the eye. As they mature, they develop elongated "thread-like" filaments on their dorsal fins. When kept in a group, they create a shimmering effect as they hover together above branching corals like Acropora. They are peaceful, quiet fish that require a calm environment and frequent feedings of fine meaty foods to thrive.
