The Carpet Anemone is a spectacular, heavy-bodied showpiece known for its massive oral disc and short, tightly packed tentacles that give it a plush, carpet-like appearance. Appearing in jaw-dropping hues of electric green, deep blue, purple, and red, this majestic invertebrate prefers to bury its foot deep in the sand bed right at the base of the rockwork. Because they possess incredibly sticky tentacles and an exceptionally potent sting, they are brilliant hosts for larger clownfish species but require caution around small, slow-moving tankmates.
